Film Screening: Chasing Ice followed by Q&A
You are invited to attend a screening by the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology of the Emmy-winning documentary, Chasing Ice.
The movie chronicles the multi-year effort of scientists and photographers to capture time-lapse images of changing Arctic ice systems. Changing ice landscapes are the first visible bellwethers of accelerating climate change. This screening will follow our Full Committee hearing on July 11 at 10am in 2318 Rayburn House Office Building, entitled “Earth’s Thermometers: Glacial and Ice Sheet Melt in a Changing Climate."
There will be a Q&A period after the screening with Dr. W. Tad Pfeffer, Fellow, Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research, University of Colorado Boulder, who was a scientific expert for the film, and Dr. Twila Moon, Research Scientist from the National Snow and Ice Data Center’s Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences. Both the hearing and screening are free and open to the public.
