Ranking Member Johnson Marks the 25th Anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger Tragedy

Washington, D.C., January 28, 2011.--Ranking Member Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) made the following statement on the 25th anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger accident:

“Today marks the 25th Anniversary of the Space Shuttle Challenger tragedy. It is imperative to pause and remember the crew of that mission and their families, as well as the brave men and women who perished in the Apollo 1 and Space Shuttle Columbia tragedies.  To all the dedicated individuals who lost their lives in the service of our nation’s space program, we will never forget your ultimate sacrifice. The best way to honor them is by sustaining our commitment to their dream for America’s human exploration of outer space.”
