Ranking Member Johnson Appointed as a Conferee for National Defense Authorization Act
(Washington, DC) – Yesterday, Ranking Member Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) was selected to be a member of the conference committee of lawmakers designated to reconcile the House and Senate variations of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2018. The portions of the legislation that Ranking Member Johnson will be negotiating include the commercialization of innovative federal technologies and successful small business research and development efforts, in addition to cybersecurity educational programs and the development of standards, policies, and procedures for unmanned aircraft systems.
Ranking Member Eddie Bernice Johnson (D-TX) made the following statement.
“I am honored to have been appointed as a conferee on the FY2018 National Defense Authorization Act. The portions of the legislation I have been tasked to reconcile are of great importance for a strong economy, workforce, and the overall competitiveness of our country. I look forward to working with my colleagues on the Science Committee and in the Senate on these issues.”
