Ranking Members Lofgren and Ross Applaud Biden-Harris Administration 20B Investment to Advance Climate Solutions Across the Nation
(WASHINGTON, DC) —Yesterday, the Biden-Harris Administration announced the grant recipients of 20 billion dollars in funding for community-focused climate solutions. The funding falls under the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (GGRF), which was created by the Inflation Reduction Act. The GGRF is an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) program that funds clean energy and climate projects in communities across the nation, specifically in historically underserved communities.
Ranking Member Zoe Lofgren (D-CA) and Subcommittee on Environment Ranking Member Deborah Ross (D-NC) made the following statement:
“Democrats and the Biden-Harris Administration continue to deliver climate solutions for the American people,” said Ranking Members Lofgren and Ross. “This investment of $20 billion to fund clean energy and climate solutions across the nation is another historic step this Administration is taking to address the climate crisis. We’re especially glad to see the Administration emphasizing the importance of supporting climate efforts in historically disadvantaged communities. These communities unjustly bear the brunt of the worst impacts of climate change. These funds will help bring us closer to a clean energy future while also building solutions that keep Americans safe. Everyone must have a seat at the table in this fight, and everyone deserves to reap the rewards of a climate-resilient future.”
